Taken on: 2011-03-19 22:03:01
I've had interest in astronomy since I was young, so the idea of being able to photograph a 'Supermoon' (a full or new moon when the moon is close to the earth) was very intriguing for me.
It was a bit foggy up in Wild Rose when I shot the moon since they still have a lot of melting snow. It was shot at 10:03pm, where the moon was already waning just a bit, (right side) but still over 99% full.
This is by far, my most cropped image I've put in so far this year since I only have a 200mm lens on my 7D. The good news is that the 70-200 f2.8IS is a very high-quality lens, so even at 100% crop, it is still rather clear.
Hope you had good weather so you could enjoy the Supermoon!
