Driving by the capitol tonight after my photography class (a little after 10PM), I decided to stop down and check out the scene. I knew people were sleeping in the capitol, but was curious how this was working out.
I was surprised to find the capitol with quite a few people, much food, and even a 'medical station' to help those who were sick. It looked like temporary housing for people impacted by a natural disaster.
If you are in Madison, I highly recommend going down some night and checking out this bizarre scene. My guess is there was about 100 or so people hunkering down for the night, and many still having meetings. I overheard one discussion about a young man speaking with his Union rep out of California, giving him instructions how to organize the next day's rallies. Others were simply hanging out and talking. Everyone friendly.
The guy in this shot was lying mostly in the middle of the hall, snoring loudly with this face directly on the marble floor (who can sleep like that?!) Had it been any other situation, I would have assumed the man was injured or dead. Others looked just as uncomfortable, or in a more zombie-like state.
